How intriguing. For better or worse my universe does not have these "thirteen primes" the others seem to hold in such esteem. Aside from what came up in the meeting, I know little of this Solus Prime.

[Most of his knowledge on them was second hand from these mission debriefs, and thus far he had managed to avoid direct contact with any of their artifacts.]

What was it you found out?

Considering our track record with them here, I don't think that's necessarily such a bad thing.

[He huffs. Maybe he's not exactly the best person to judge but his personal experiences have not been all that great, and not just one but two of them have literally left an impression on him whether he wanted it or not.]

She made things. I guess that goes along with her artifact being a Forge, but... Well, I guess she didn't really specify what the Gauntlets can do. She said it amplifies the will and power of the wearer. The more you give, the more power you get.

...that...doesn't come without a price, of course.

I've come to the same conclusion.

[The legacy of these primes certainly seemed to be causing more problems for the ship than almost anything else in this universe.]

Sounds in alignment with most magic I've encountered so far. Blood magic works in a similar way.

I guess it's not completely out there. Even from a scientific perspective, it makes sense, power has to come from a source.

[Donnie holds his hands up, tensing his fingers, and in an instant they morph into more clawlike points, not completely dissimilar from Shockwave's.]

Princer's the one who told me I could do this. He's um. Also the one who told me that I basically don't have any arms from the elbow down because they've basically become these things. He said the more I use the Gauntlets' power, the more this'll eat away at me.

Which...is probably what Solus meant when she said there was a price I'd pay with my organic flesh but she still could've been a little more specific if you ask me. [HUFF]

Princer does like to talk, doesn't he.

[Shockwave gave Donnie's arm the gentlest tap, considering his claws are nearly as long as the turtle was tall.]

Call me a pragmatist but isn't that more practical? You organics are so delicate.

[Donnie snorts a little at that. That Princer liked to talk is a bit of an understatement.]

Well...

[He flexes his weird little claws that maybe don't look entirely too weird to him.]

That's true... I mean, I don't think I'm that bothered by it? But it's still kind of weird. And then there's the whole magic thing but I guess I can't be entirely mad about that since I guess I've always had some kind of ability.

Unless you are in a rush to be rid of it, my recommendation is to make the most of it. It does have it's uses. Now that you know the terms, you can utilize it as you see fit.

[He gestured around the lab, to emphasize his point. He'd certainly done what he could to make the magic his own.]

If you choose not to use it, then there's little to concern yourself with at the moment.

Not sure how possible it would be to "get rid of it" anyway, I just kind of figure I'm stuck with it. Guess there are worse things to be stuck with. Anyway, they've come in pretty handy.

[He lets his fingers shift again, back into his more familiar digits.]

Figuring out what else I can do with them just makes the most sense.

You seem to be making progress exploring uses that don't require the use of the gauntlet's power directly. From my perspective there is little to be fretting over for the moment.

I'm guessing I have a certain limit, or like...I'm at a particular level. I can use the power of the gauntlets to an extent without it spreading.

[He looks around Shockwave's desk for anything he can use to demonstrate.] But...I just thought it'd be good to have someone aware of what all's going on in case...it for whatever reason gets really bad. And you're like one of the only other people I know who's both scientifically minded and magically...burdened. Or something.

[Shockwave's desk was its usual amount of cluttered, there were plenty of miscellaneous objects scattered about: stylus and vials, assorted electronic and mechanical components.]

Well I can certainly make a note of it in my records. If you wish to submit regular reports on the status and need an objective observer then you are welcome to send them.

[Vials are at least easier to replace. It stands a little taller than him, which is easily over his limit for Amalgamous's powers, which don't really obey any actual physics that it's super annoying but that's another subject.

Donnie goes over to the glass and sets his hands on it. Purple light traces lines along the black stone of his forearms and hands, the light extended briefly around the vial in question before it's reshaped into a square dish.]

I can do that. I have the initial scans I made that I pulled from the medical office too.

[Shockwave watches with curiosity. Quite the ability.]

And this is due to the gauntlets? Interesting.

Would you be willing to share the results of the scans?

[Donnie nods.]

I guess in a way it acts as an extension of my inherent ability.

[Which might be news but he's kind of distracted.]

Yeah. Let me just...

[He taps at his bracer computer, bringing up said files to send over to Shockwave. Everything seems normal by way of readings, just that nothing comes up at all on the scans to even register that Donnie has any limb past his elbows.]
