Date: 2023-04-01 05:53 am (UTC)From:Without another Autobot around? I'd hope not yet... Likely. [Reality of war against the hope of optimism.] But in front of fellow Autobots? No, I refuse to accept it. Now, bully, intimidate, threaten? [Shrug] I'm optimistic, not blind to what gets results.
[Only her morals kept her from becoming a Decepticon.]
Regardless, I- [Her feet sink into the ground before Moonracer clamps down on the impulse to phase back out of magic range. She offers a sheepish smile as she settles back to being normal.] Still learning. Yet- I want you to think on this for a bit; I'll be asking the other scientists and getting Knock Out involved, but-
[Inhale, exhale, even as she looks up to meet his optic, every inch as serious as she intends.] I need to know the limits of what I can do now. All limits unless I veto it. Magic and otherwise, unless I veto it.
You let me handle Knock Out, okay?

Date: 2023-04-01 06:34 pm (UTC)From:[He was in no way saying the Decepticons were good in comparison, but it must be convenient for her to pick and choose what actions she was willing to turn a blind eye to.
As she continued he folded his arms, a note of incredulity in his voice when he replied. He didn't miss that slide into the floor, and his gaze narrowed in on where her feet met the floor. He'd seen wardens do the same time and again, and he remembered her fungal appearance in Radiance, but the fact she could do that was. Hm.]
Let me confirm: you are asking me to risk the wrath of your beloved medic in order to test how much magical damage you can take, knowing how Monarch Eclipse reacted to Quintessa's magic?
[Despite everything, he did not sound opposed this plan. He was curious himself, not to mention the fact he was still working out the limits of his own abilities, but he didn't trust her ability to keep Knock Out rationale about it.]

Date: 2023-04-05 09:36 am (UTC)From:[It's not a dismissial, not quite. Shockwave was wrong; had to be. Her Autobots still held to some sembance of the virtues they had back when the war started. They had to. Yet... Moonracer pushed the thought away, unwilling to face it.]
But, yes. Like I said, I'll deal with him. So, all I'm asking is if you are willing to help me discover what limits I have, knowing I have the final veto over what is done. I also...
[She shifts her weight with a small exhale. This is a Shockwave. Not hers, but...] I believe that if you are anything like the Shockwave I knew, then you'd rather a... a live specimen who's willing to give feedback than a dead one whose only use is, well, dissection and the wrath of my friends.
[Of her Amica, but she's not telling Shockwave just how much Knock Out means to her.]
Like, take a month or so to consider it, ok?

Date: 2023-04-09 07:11 pm (UTC)From:That depends entirely on the point of study, so your premise is flawed in that particular regard, but I've no interest in eliciting further ill will with Knock Out. Without good reason, anyway.
[From his tone it was clear he did not consider her proposal good enough reason, at this point. He may not know the specifics of their relationship, but given Knock Out's reaction when she'd been petrified, which she had missed, he could make a fairly astute guess on how protective they were of one another.]
I will only consider this if I hear the assurance from the medic himself, but I'll consider it. You don't exactly have many alternatives, do you.
