[It's not a dismissial, not quite. Shockwave was wrong; had to be. Her Autobots still held to some sembance of the virtues they had back when the war started. They had to. Yet... Moonracer pushed the thought away, unwilling to face it.]

[She shifts her weight with a small exhale. This is a Shockwave. Not hers, but...] I believe that if you are anything like the Shockwave I knew, then you'd rather a... a live specimen who's willing to give feedback than a dead one whose only use is, well, dissection and the wrath of my friends.

That depends entirely on the point of study, so your premise is flawed in that particular regard, but I've no interest in eliciting further ill will with Knock Out. Without good reason, anyway.

[From his tone it was clear he did not consider her proposal good enough reason, at this point. He may not know the specifics of their relationship, but given Knock Out's reaction when she'd been petrified, which she had missed, he could make a fairly astute guess on how protective they were of one another.]

[Aaaand make his way he does, even if it does take a little longer when you can't cut across halls and through rooms via the ventilation system. But Donnie eventually makes it and looks around as he slips inside Shockwave's room.]

The only one in my universe as keen on flattery as you was Starscream and he is far from a "dear companion" of mine.

[The lab looked much the way it usually did, with the organized chaos of ongoing research. One new addition however was a tank set on the back counter which featured a flashy, blue, metal fish with flair of flaming red fins that swam through the air within. Almost certainly Cybertronian in nature.

Shockwave himself was at a large board, notating what appeared to be a series of sigils. He looked over when the saw the turtle enter, and stepped back from the board.]

Now what was it you wanted to see me about?

The name has some passing familiarity. A Seeker and a snake who would sooner stab you in the back then keep you good company.

Old Skywarp here though, oh you would never find a finer fellow. Not a dishonest bolt in my body.

[The movement from the new occupant is quick to catch Donnie's attention. The colors seem out of place in here.

He wanders over where Shockwave is, head tilting at the markings on the board.]

Oh. Uh...

[He glances down at his hands, tucking them against his chest as he shuffles his feet, suddenly awkward. ]

I'm not really sure where to begin. Magic stuff, right?

A fair assessment of Starscream to be sure. However, I can confirm with certainty we are not from the same universe, as the Skywarp from my world is accounted for already.

[Shockwave set aside his stylus, moving towards his desk to take a seat, fully expecting Donnie to fly up there rather than continue the conversation from this awkward height. He steeped his claws.]

Then start where any scientist does: with the facts in order.

[At least Donnie takes the cue, and not long after, he's up and hovering above the desk before settling down.

He knew he'd come to the right person for this. Nodding at Shockwave's suggestion, the turtle takes a deep breath, sorting his thoughts.]

You know the summary of our mission to Iskwiyac. Well... I wasn't one hundred percent sure at the time, but after the meeting, I think I can confirm that these- the Keystone Gauntlets, were made by Solus Prime.

She was able to communicate with me through them, or at least...whatever was left of her. I'm not sure how that works, but I haven't gotten any response since we left. But over there, she told me a little more about these....

[He lifts his hands again, turning them as he looks them over. They don't really look any different than when he'd first gotten them, just a strange black coating covering his hands up to his elbows.]

How intriguing. For better or worse my universe does not have these "thirteen primes" the others seem to hold in such esteem. Aside from what came up in the meeting, I know little of this Solus Prime.

[Most of his knowledge on them was second hand from these mission debriefs, and thus far he had managed to avoid direct contact with any of their artifacts.]

Considering our track record with them here, I don't think that's necessarily such a bad thing.

[He huffs. Maybe he's not exactly the best person to judge but his personal experiences have not been all that great, and not just one but two of them have literally left an impression on him whether he wanted it or not.]

She made things. I guess that goes along with her artifact being a Forge, but... Well, I guess she didn't really specify what the Gauntlets can do. She said it amplifies the will and power of the wearer. The more you give, the more power you get.

...that...doesn't come without a price, of course.

Action, There and Gone

It doesn't look like this someone has really rifled that much through your possessions. Or stolen anything.

How do you know someone was here? There is a tiny plastic human toy baby sitting on a countertop. it is perched upon a sticky paper upon which an intricately made 'ritual circle' has been drawn. There is also one placed into any and every unlocked cabinet ]

I've come to the same conclusion.

[The legacy of these primes certainly seemed to be causing more problems for the ship than almost anything else in this universe.]

Sounds in alignment with most magic I've encountered so far. Blood magic works in a similar way.

I guess it's not completely out there. Even from a scientific perspective, it makes sense, power has to come from a source.

[Donnie holds his hands up, tensing his fingers, and in an instant they morph into more clawlike points, not completely dissimilar from Shockwave's.]

Princer's the one who told me I could do this. He's um. Also the one who told me that I basically don't have any arms from the elbow down because they've basically become these things. He said the more I use the Gauntlets' power, the more this'll eat away at me.

Which...is probably what Solus meant when she said there was a price I'd pay with my organic flesh but she still could've been a little more specific if you ask me. [HUFF]
